RAF Lakenheath: Britain’s Deadliest Confirmed Bird Strike Accident

The most serious bird strike accident in recent British aviation history did not involve a commercial airliner. On the night of January 7, 2014, a US Air Force HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter from the 56th Rescue Squadron, based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, crashed into marshland near Cley next the Sea in Norfolk.
