Manchester–Paris, Birmingham–Jersey and More: Jet2 Adds 17 New Routes for Summer 2027

Jet2 (LS), the UK’s third-largest scheduled airline and its largest leisure tour operator, has confirmed 17 new route additions to its Northern Summer 2027 (NS27) network, spanning departures from Birmingham Airport (BHX), Bristol Airport (BRS), Bournemouth Airport (BOH), East Midlands Airport (EMA), Edinburgh Airport (EDI), London Gatwick Airport (LGW), London Stansted Airport (STN) and Manchester Airport (MAN). Disclosed by route analytics firm AeroRoutes on 15 May 2026, the programme encompasses brand-new services to the Greek island of Thassos; the Dordogne wine country of Bergerac, France; and three routes to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), France, among others. The additions are scheduled to operate between late March and the end of October 2027 aboard Boeing 737-800s and Airbus A321neo aircraft.

The announcement arrives as Jet2 prepares for what it has described as its “biggest-ever” summer programme. According to Air Service One, the carrier plans to add 1.25 million seats year-on-year for NS27 and grow its fleet from 140 to as many as 145 aircraft, with its A321neo sub-fleet expanding significantly from 31 to 43 units.

Jet2 Bets on Paris with Three Brand-New UK–CDG Routes

The most strategically consequential segment of Jet2’s NS27 expansion is, arguably, its entry into the Paris market at scale. The carrier will launch new services from East Midlands, London Stansted and Manchester airports to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), operating between late March and October 2027. Combined with its pre-existing year-round Leeds Bradford–Paris CDG service, Jet2 will offer 14 weekly flights from four UK airports to the French capital during the peak summer season, with over 150,000 seats now on sale — a capacity increase of more than 300% compared to Summer 2026.

East Midlands Airport will receive two weekly services — on Mondays and Fridays — running from 26 March to 29 October 2027. This route is exclusive to Jet2 from EMA. London Stansted and Manchester will each see four weekly departures (Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays), with Stansted operating from 30 April and Manchester from 25 March through to 31 October 2027.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, articulated the rationale in a formal statement:

“We are seeing continued demand for flights and holidays to Paris, with many customers wanting to book ahead and visit this iconic city. As always, we are giving customers and independent travel agents exactly what they want by launching three brand-new routes to Paris for Summer 2027. This represents a significant expansion of our programme to this incredible city, and we know the new routes will be popular with customers and independent travel agents across each airport region.”

Analysis from the Centre for Aviation (CAPA) notes that Paris will still represent less than 1% of Jet2’s total capacity but will become its largest French destination and its second most important short-haul city-break market after Rome. Jet2 will face stiff competition on the London–Paris and Manchester–Paris corridors but will serve as the sole operator on the considerably thinner East Midlands–Paris route, providing genuine differentiation.

Three Routes to Kavala Open a New Greek Chapter

Jet2’s decision to serve the northern Aegean island of Thassos for the first time constitutes one of the headline strategic moves of its NS27 announcement. Flights will operate to Kavala International Airport (KVA) — the island’s closest mainland gateway, approximately a 30-minute ferry crossing from Thassos — from three UK bases: Birmingham, Manchester and London Stansted. The London Stansted–Kavala route operates exclusively through Jet2, reinforcing the carrier’s pattern of securing exclusive air links at regional airports.

The new programme brings Jet2’s total number of Greek airports served to 16, a figure the airline claims is greater than that of any other UK carrier. The route structure is as follows:

  • Birmingham will operate weekly Wednesday flights from 12 May to 29 September 2027
  • London Stansted will run weekly Tuesday services from 11 May to 28 September 2027
  • Manchester will offer twice-weekly Tuesday and Friday departures from 11 May through to 1 October 2027.

Jet2 General Manager Jacob Bramley stated that the carrier was “delighted to be working in partnership with the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace to promote the stunning island of Thassos, which is our newest destination.” He added that the airline is “very excited about launching to this fantastic brand-new destination.”

Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis underscored the significance of the partnership from the destination side:

“We are particularly pleased with our cooperation with Jet2, as it represents a significant recognition of the momentum that the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace has developed on the international tourism map.”

He noted that enhanced air links will “open new pathways” for tourism development in the wider region.

Greek National Tourism Organisation Secretary General Andreas Fiorentinos also welcomed the announcement:

“We are pleased to welcome Jet2’s addition of Thassos island from 2027. This expansion featuring the emerald north Aegean island is part of our ongoing, long-term strategic partnership with the UK’s leading tour operator, offering British holidaymakers new destinations.”

Jersey Capacity Up 140% As Birmingham and Bristol Join the Program

Jet2’s Jersey programme for Summer 2027 receives arguably its most dramatic upgrade in terms of percentage capacity growth. The carrier has announced two brand-new services — from Birmingham Airport (BHX) and Bristol Airport (BRS) — while also increasing frequency from Manchester Airport (MAN), extending the season right through to the end of October 2027. With Jet2 already serving Jersey (JER) from East Midlands, Leeds Bradford and Newcastle International airports, the additions bring its total UK departure points for the island to six, two of which remain exclusive routes.

At peak, Jet2 will operate 15 weekly flights across its Jersey network, with nearly 120,000 seats on sale for Summer 2027 — a capacity increase of over 140% compared to Summer 2026. The specific schedule is as follows:

UK City Frequency Operating Days Service Period
Birmingham 3 weekly services Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays 2 May – 10 October 2027
Bristol 2 weekly departures Mondays, Fridays 14 May – 11 October 2027
Manchester 3 weekly flights Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays Until 31 October 2027

Steve Heapy commented on the expansion:

“We are delighted to be significantly expanding our Jersey programme for Summer 2027, with a great choice of flights now departing from six UK airports as a result. Customers and independent travel agents are wanting to book ahead and get their summer holidays sorted and now we are giving them an even greater selection of destinations to choose from.”

The announcement drew immediate endorsements from destination stakeholders. Matt Thomas, Chief Executive of Ports of Jersey, said:

“The growth that Jet2 has announced for 2027 demonstrates the growing confidence airlines have in Jersey. Increased capacity and a longer season delivers greater choice and improved connectivity.”

Tricia Warwick, Chief Executive of Visit Jersey, added that the increased capacity for 2027 is “a real vote of confidence in Jersey as a destination, and we are delighted for more visitors from across the UK to discover our island.”

Edinburgh, Bournemouth and Gatwick Gain Mediterranean Depth

Beyond the headline Paris and Jersey expansions, Jet2’s NS27 additions demonstrate a deliberate effort to deepen its portfolio at secondary UK bases. Edinburgh Airport gains three new routes for Summer 2027. Edinburgh will see a resumption of its Skiathos service — last operated until September 2023 — as an exclusive Jet2 route aboard the A321neo, operating from 6 May 2027. Two additional Mediterranean routes will join it: weekly Wednesday services to Chania International Airport (CHQ) on Crete’s northwest coast from 5 May, and weekly Sunday A321neo services to Pula Airport (PUY) on Croatia’s Istrian peninsula from 2 May. Both the Chania and Pula routes are exclusive to Jet2 from Edinburgh, bringing EDI’s summer 2027 network to 40 destinations in total.

CEO Steve Heapy was elated with the Edinburgh additions:

“There are many holidaymakers wanting to get that sunshine locked into their diaries for Summer 2027, with our flights and holidays from both Bournemouth and Edinburgh Airports proving particularly popular.”

At Bournemouth Airport, Jet2 adds a new weekly Sunday service to Reus Airport (REU) in Spain, the gateway to the Costa Dorada. The route operates from 2 May to 31 October 2027 and is exclusive to Jet2 from Bournemouth, expanding the southern English airport’s summer network to 18 destinations. At London Gatwick Airport (LGW), meanwhile, Jet2 will inaugurate a weekly A321neo service to Mytilene International Airport (MJT) on the Greek island of Lesvos from 2 May to 10 October 2027 — an exclusive route. This marks part of a wider 27% capacity increase at Gatwick for NS27, with 35 sun and city destinations now on sale there and 1.1 million seats available in total.

These 17 Routes Fit Jet2’s Bigger Picture

The 17 routes documented by AeroRoutes are part of a still-expanding NS27 programme. Industry data from Air Service One indicates that Jet2 plans to add as many as 20 new routes in total for Summer 2027 and increase its overall seat count by 1.25 million versus Summer 2026. Greece accounts for the largest capacity growth in the NS27 summer 2026 base comparator, having already received 446,000 additional seats, followed by mainland Spain (353,000), the Balearic Islands (247,000) and Portugal (159,000). The Kavala and Mytilene additions further deepen the Greek portfolio, which now spans 16 airports — more than any other UK-based carrier, Jet2 claims.

This expansion trajectory also contextualises a broader set of parallel announcements. Jet2 confirmed a full return to Egypt for Winter 2026/27, with new services to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh launching from 11 February 2027 from multiple UK bases — four of which are exclusive Jet2 routes, including the Leeds Bradford services and the London Stansted–Hurghada corridor.

Separately, the carrier launched its first London Gatwick operations in March 2026 and rapidly built a 35-destination summer programme there for NS27, representing a 27% year-on-year capacity increase from the airport in just its second summer of operations. The Gatwick build-out alone accounts for over 900,000 additional seats at a network level. Taken together, these announcements portray a carrier that is simultaneously broadening its geographic reach, defending its dominance in established Mediterranean leisure markets and making a calculated push into city-break travel

The Bergerac resumptions from both Birmingham and Manchester — exclusive routes not served by any other UK carrier to the Dordogne — further underscore a strategy of deploying capacity to quieter, underserved routes where Jet2 can operate without direct competition. The Edinburgh–Skiathos service, also exclusive and also a resumption, follows the same philosophy. Jet2’s growing A321neo fleet, rising from 31 to a planned 43 aircraft, enables the carrier to serve thinner, longer routes with lower per-seat costs.
